Day 6

What a day! We're all definitely getting our exercise in and indulging ourselves on the cafeteria's ice cream. We started off loading the bus and heading to some memorials. The first stop was the Jefferson Memorial. It was a beautiful monument that everyone seemed to enjoy. Matt, Sara, Dustin, and Mallory about got left, but made it to the bus! Then we went to the FDR Memorial and saw all the statues and waterfalls honoring our late president's terms in office. Once we got back, we unwound and had our derby. We played freeze tag, basketball, volleyball, sponge race, and a couple more. We all had fun but were ready for a break. We then had a town hall meeting where we were all grouped into smaller groups and discussed controversial topics, keeping in mind that they were, "safe zones." We also visited the National Cathedral and got to experience the overwhelming size and beauty of it. To top the day off, we had some hungry boys decided that they were going out past curfew to get food. Needless to say none of the guys remembered a room key, so Gabe, Colton, and Chase were locked out. The got new keys but they made it to bed a little late. It was a fun day!
