Day 5

We started the day off with a nice hot breakfast provided by the National 4-H center cooks. We then loaded the buses at 7:40 to go and visit Mount Vernon. When we got there, we all had free time to go around and look at a bunch of Washington's things, such as his famous dentures. We then as a group had an opportunity to tour Washington's mansion and see his farm. That was pretty cool. After we left Mt. Vernon we went back to the center to have lunch. After lunch was over, we all went to our separate color groups, or our workshops. We then had our committee groups. After our meetings, we all got 30 minutes of free time. Everyone spent their time differently. Some played games, some had snacks, and some took naps. After that we had supper and after supper we went to go on a night tour of the monuments and memorials. We saw the Washington Monument, the  Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial, the Korean Memorial, the Vietnam Memorial, and  the WWII Memorial. After that, we had reflections on the bus and then we had curfew!
