We started the day off a little later than usual when we left the hotel at 8:30 to head to Yorktown. We had a fantastic tour and pretended to be in the Continental Army. After that, we went on the road again and stopped for lunch at a TA where we had Popeye's and Pizza Hut. From there we headed to D.C. and finally after many long awaited hours we had arrived at the National 4-H center where we met our program assistant Katie! Our rooms weren't ready so we had our orientation first. This is where we had a mad dash to sign up for the committees we wanted. After orientation, we went to our room and soon after went to the Clover Cafe for dinner, where they served eggplant. The opening assembly was soon after along with workshops and our first committee meetings and talent show auditions. The pin trade followed and was a mad house. Everyone rushed to trade and get their pins. We closed the night with our delegation huddle with Katie and then curfew.
